Today, the whole European language reserve in Brussels for the Translating Europe Forum. The forum is an initiative of the directorate-general for Translation (DGT) of the European Commission to follow and live online.
Why does the European Commission a whole sector to Brussels? Because the Commission wants the European language reserve a sustainable and diversified marketplace. The sector must learn to work together in a structured way in a coherent way and take actions to increase its visibility. The sector must also innovate and future translators should be better trained. That is in the interest of everyone in the language sector and in the interest of Europe. A catalytic converter DGT to be in that process.
