Cat-training at GentVertaalt (Ghent, BE)

CAT-tools workshops by GentVertaaltThe informal network of freelance translators GentVertaalt offers in the autumn of 2015 in Ghent (Belgium) different CAT-courses.

CAT stands for Computer Aided Translation: computer support for translation work. Today is meant by CAT a wide range of tools, which support and partially automate the translation process.
The CAT-tools in the training of GentVertaalt, are memoQ and SDL Trados Studio.


memoq
On Friday 18 september 2015 is there any training memoQ for beginners (in Dutch) and on Friday 20 november is there any training for advanced (also in Dutch). Both
programmes are given by Sandra Florindo of the Dutch KTV (Amersfoort). She is a qualified translator and certified memoQ-trainer. Kilgray memoq translation technology is of the Hungarian

firm.
SDL has GentVertaalt in the autumn also two courses (in English) about SDL Trados translation technology of the British Studio 2015, SDL International, which exactly ten years ago for ca. 50 million euro the Trados translation memory technology of the German took
over. Who both SDL training follows, basically has all of the information to the exam ' Getting Started ' in the SDL certification
program. The SDL-training days are Friday 16 October and Friday 11 december. The training is given in English by Laurence J (Traductions Jadot, Wavre). She works for almost 15 years with translation technology of Trados and SDL, as a translator and as a certified trainer.

GentVertaalt
GentVertaalt is an initiative that freelance translators wants to bring: "Who runs a one-man business, often works alone and then it's been fun to be with your colleagues to come together and share experiences. It's equal to ten ground ones together and together you know more, so come
and join us! " Come together and exchange experiences can be online in the Facebook group by GentVertaalt and the monthly networking evening in Ghent.

GentVertaalt organized in the past been a CAT-tooldemonstratiedag and also at the end of last year a Conference on North-South variation in Dutch.

The founders of GentVertaalt are Sébastien Delaney (Goddess), Mick The Meyer (mdmx) and Tom Valenzuela (TVC Translations).

KTV (Kennisnet for language and vocational training) Finally, a Training Institute for translators, interpreters and other professionals who specialized knowledge about language or a related field. For the autumn of 2015 has KTV already 75 further training activities programmed for interpreters and translators.
